January Feature Enhancements and Updates

February 23, 2026

We’ve kicked off the year with a few major updates designed to make teaching and learning even more seamless. From enhanced IA/EA support to ManageBac+ now being available in Japanese and Korean, along with AI-powered translations for communication in bilingual schools, these improvements bring clarity, efficiency, and accessibility to the forefront. Whether it’s students submitting final assessments with ease, teachers moderating Class Stream posts, or families staying connected through the new Classes page, our latest updates ensure everyone in the school community can engage, collaborate, and thrive.

Full DP Group 6 IA Support in ManageBac+

With assessment season underway, we know how hectic things can get for both Students and Teachers. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce a major update for DP Group 6 (Arts) subjects, including Visual Arts, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Film. With this release, we now offer full coverage of IA and EA tasks across all subjects.

This update makes managing Internal and External Assessments simpler than ever. Students now have a clear, straightforward way to deliver their work, while teachers can track progress, evaluate tasks, and generate all required IB files in one place. No more juggling tools or switching between workflows—everything happens seamlessly in ManageBac+, for everyone involved:

  • For Students: Submit your IAs and EAs easily in a single, dedicated space.
  • For Teachers: Grade work and provide feedback more efficiently using IB-aligned criteria.
  • For Schools and Leaders: Stay on top of deadlines, ensure compliance, and streamline assessment processes across subjects.

This update changes the way Arts assessments are handled, giving educators more time to spend on teaching and mentoring, and allowing students to focus on creating their best work.

Japanese and Korean UI Translations

ManageBac+ is now available in Japanese and Korean, making the platform more accessible for international schools and multilingual communities in Asia. Students, parents, and teachers can navigate in their preferred language, making learning, communication, and collaboration smoother and more effective.

Multilingual support is increasingly seen as a competitive advantage for international schools. With growing demand in Japan and Korea for IB schools, offering translated UIs* helps schools reduce language barriers, improve accessibility, and provide a more inclusive experience for their communities.

The translations cover all hard-coded UI text, while custom fields, free-text areas, and certain IB-imported content will remain in the original language. Schools can also use the Ask AI Writing Assistant to translate text boxes if needed.

We’re working on extending the Japanese and Korean UI to our mobile apps in the coming months, giving students and teachers full access on iOS and Android.

With an expanding range of translations in ManageBac+, international schools can facilitate more effective communication between teachers and parents, allowing families to engage confidently in their preferred language and stay connected with school life.

Class Stream Post-Moderation

We’re excited to introduce Class Stream Post-Moderation for our iOS and Android apps! This feature is designed to create a safer, more supportive learning environment for every student. Teachers can now review posts before they appear, ensuring that the Class Stream stays positive, constructive, and respectful.

However, Post-Moderation isn’t just about control, it’s about growth. Teachers can return posts with feedback, helping students reflect, improve, and share their best work. This transforms the Class Stream from a simple posting space into a hub for meaningful discussions, learning, and thoughtful classroom engagement.

With Post-Moderation, every post becomes an opportunity for guidance, reflection, and growth, making the classroom experience better for everyone.

AI Translations for Classroom, Year Group, and Group Discussions

ManageBac+ now enables clearer, more effective communication across multilingual communities with AI-powered translations for Classroom, Year Group, and Group discussions.

This update allows teachers, parents, and students to communicate more easily by instantly translating discussion content into their preferred language, helping bridge barriers in bilingual schools. Built directly into discussion threads, translations can be accessed with a single click, enabling users to follow and participate in conversations without losing context.

Translations are also available in KeyChat, Portfolio, and Class Streams, ensuring a consistent multilingual experience across the platform.

As schools place increasing emphasis on language accessibility and inclusive communication, this enhancement reflects our continued focus on supporting learning environments worldwide.

Personalized iOS Experience

We’re deeply committed to delivering a more personalized, consistent, and intuitive experience for all our users. The latest mobile update ensures that your chosen theme now carries across to the iOS app, so your school colors are reflected throughout the entire user journey for a more seamless, consistent and cohesive experience.

We’ve also added a new “What’s New” section, making it easier for schools to discover recently released mobile features and quickly understand how they support their day-to-day workflows.

Thanks to your feedback, one of our most requested features — dark mode — is coming soon! Designed for comfort and clarity, it offers a high-contrast interface that boosts readability and reduces eye strain during extended use.

Other Updates

Classes Page for Parents

We’re delighted to share a new enhancement designed to give parents clearer visibility and stronger connections to their child’s learning. The new Classes Page makes it easy for families to track attendance, remain engaged, and join class conversations when needed. By mirroring the Student view, parents are able to obtain greater insight into attendance and direct access to Class Discussions, all in one place.

Centralized Tasks & Deadlines

We’ve rolled out a new, centralized Tasks & Deadlines experience. Rather than clicking into inpidual classes, all upcoming, past, and overdue work is now in one place. Teachers can manage assignments across all their classes from a single list, while Parents can conveniently view their child’s workload without needing to open every class.

Color Customizations in Web-based Reports

We’ve also introduced a new enhancement to Multi-Curricular Report Cards, that gives schools more control over how their reports look and feel. Schools can now apply any custom background color to web-based report cards, thus reflecting their unique brand and identity, and creating a more seamless educational journey for students.
